Breakthrough iNDUS eco; smart sanitation system for conscious people
Since the launch of iNDUS eco at last year’s Caravan Salon, this smart sanitation system has been growing in popularity. Manufacturers have responded positively to the opportunity to combine ease of use with sustainability. With iNDUS eco, Thetford offers a smart sanitation system for evironmental conscious people.
Liner class convenience
iNDUS-Whilst the cassette toilet remains the most obvious choice for the majority of the market, a section of the market is looking for a sanitary system that offers greater convenience, without the need for toilet additives. By introducing iNDUS eco, Thetford responded to these evolving needs. A higher level of convenience has been available for years in the so-called ‘liner class’. With its Tecma macerator toilets, Thetford has been the market leader in this segment for many years. Dirk Valder, Manager of Product Management RV/OEM at Thetford: ’’Our Tecma Silence 2G is performing very well in this segment. It offers a full ceramic toilet with a powerful macerator pump that pumps waste into the black water tank.
However, due to the ceramic toilet and high water consumption, this system is not immediately suitable for a large part of the motorhome market.’’
With iNDUS Eco Thetford offers a combination of a modern, lightweight, free-standing toilet with a low water use macerator, a practical discharge unit to discharge at any discharge location, odour filter technology and an app to provide information on tank levels and discharge locations. Because of the lower water consumption and lower weight, iNDUS eco is suitable for a wider motorhome segment. The iNDUS eco toilet uses very little water (200 ml for a small flush, 500 ml for a large flush), comparable to the cassette toilet, and therefore saves fresh water, creates less wastewater and supports off-grid time.
OEMs are stepping in
Dirk Valder: ’’Last year Kabe was the first OEM to integrate iNDUS eco. They started with the system as an option, meanwhile they made iNDUS eco a standard in their Imperial model line. At the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2026, Hymer will introduce iNDUS eco as an option for its B Class MasterLine. As one of Germany’s leading motorhome manufacturers, Hymer has a long heritage of innovation and quality. Hymer has helped shaping the RV market for decades, so we consider their decision to join iNDUS eco to be a significant milestone. For season 2028-2029 we see high interest in at OEMs in both South Europe and North Europe.”
