EBL e-SmartWave

EBL e-SmartWave

Lippert Components, Inc. (Lippert™) – one of the leading global suppliers of original equipment and aftermarket accessories for the recreational vehicle (RV) industry – is proud to introduce its latest system from the Power-on-Board family at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The innovative Electroblock EBL e-SmartWave continues the tradition of excellence of German brand Schaudt, which recently joined the Lippert family.

EBL e-SmartWave-This solution is designed for high-end vehicles, particularly new-generation electric vehicles soon to enter the RV segment, or those using discreet components, such as premium liners or motorhomes. The EBL e-SmartWave is created for smart management of all connected devices and does not include a battery charging system.

Key features of the EBL e-SmartWave:

  • CI-BUS compatibility – This protocol allows the EBL e-SmartWave to communicate with all compatible connected devices, enabling centralized control via a dedicated display or smartphone.
  • LPWA (Low-Power Wide-Area) and GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) connectivity – Monitoring and control can be performed remotely. This ecosystem is ideal for both end users and dealers/renters. The fleet management section allows renters to monitor the status of all components interfaced with the EBL e-SmartWave system wherever the vehicle is located, thanks to the GNSS satellite system.
  • Firmware updates OTA – The EBL e-SmartWave system supports over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates, constantly improving functionality without requiring paid connectivity.
  • Cloud-free solution and data transmission via VPN – Information is sent directly to the user’s smartphone or system without being stored in the cloud, thus avoiding data protection regulation (GDPR) issues.

Additional features:

The compatibility with the CI-BUS protocol allows control of all compatible connected devices via an external display that can be installed in a conveniently accessible location and with an app for iOS and Android smartphones. The LPWA connectivity enables the EBL to communicate via a VPN (encrypted and protected) directly with the user’s device, allowing remote monitoring and control of onboard peripherals without installing a modem or router with a data SIM – the EBL e-SmartWave is equipped with its own LPWA SIM. When in proximity, Bluetooth connectivity is used.

We are bringing a highly innovative Power-on-Board solution to the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf,” said Emilio Gambineri, Director of Product & Project Management, Caravanning Europe at Lippert. “This system represents the future of electrical management in recreational vehicles, with a strong focus on home automation and centralised management of peripherals. Our advanced technology and cloud-free solution offer an unparalleled user experience while ensuring maximum data security.
