New smart charging solutions from Teleco

The TBooster Pro 1245 and 1225 DC/DC converters, the TBS 450WS photovoltaic module and the SPC 40/1B MPPT regulator create an integrated system for smart charging of leisure batteries from both the alternator and solar energy.

The evolution of recreational vehicles and the growing adoption of lithium batteries are profoundly changing the way onboard energy is managed. To meet the new requirements for autonomy and reliability, Teleco Group is presenting a complete range of solutions dedicated to charging leisure batteries, comprising the new TBooster Pro 1245 and TBooster Pro 1225 DC/DC converters, the high-power TBS 450WS photovoltaic module and the SPC 40/1B MPPT solar charge controller.

The aim is to offer manufacturers and end users an integrated ecosystem capable of delivering high performance both while driving and during extended stops, reducing dependence on electric hook-ups and maximising the vehicle’s energy efficiency.

TBooster Pro: smart charging from the alternator

Modern alternators fitted to Euro 6 vehicles and later variants no longer provide a constant voltage as they once did. Engine electronic management strategies continuously vary the available voltage, with a negative impact on charging the leisure battery.

To address this issue, Teleco has developed the TBooster Pro range: DC/DC converters designed to stabilise and optimise the energy supplied by the alternator. The devices operate as true smart voltage regulators. The energy generated by the vehicle is continuously monitored and converted into a stable and correct charging curve, regardless of fluctuations at the input.

This is particularly important for lithium batteries equipped with a BMS (Battery Management System), which require precise charging parameters. If voltage is not managed correctly, the battery protection system may interrupt charging before the cycle has actually been completed.

The new TBooster Pro 1245 is the highest-performing solution in the range. It can deliver a continuous charging current of 45 A, with peaks of up to 70 A, enabling energy to be transferred rapidly to the leisure battery while driving. Its performance makes it especially suitable for vehicles equipped with high-capacity lithium batteries and high-consumption electrical systems.

Alongside this model, Teleco is also introducing the TBooster Pro 1225, a more compact and cost-effective solution capable of delivering 25 A continuously and up to 30 A peak current. Thanks to its compact dimensions, it can also be installed easily in vans and vehicles with limited technical space, while still offering the same advanced functions as the larger model.

Both devices allow users to select the type of battery to be charged, choosing between lead-acid, AGM, gel and lithium batteries. They are also equipped with CAN-BUS and CI-BUS communication interfaces, making integration into modern onboard electronic systems easier.

TBS 450WS: the photovoltaic module that increases autonomy

In addition to alternator charging, Teleco is expanding its solar energy offering with the new TBS 450WS photovoltaic module, designed to deliver particularly high levels of energy production.

With a rated output of 450 W and an operating voltage of 32 V, the new panel belongs to a very different category of modules compared with the traditional 100-120 W panels commonly installed on motorhomes. In favourable conditions, it can supply up to 25 A of charging current to the leisure battery, enough power to fully recharge a 100 Ah battery in around four hours.

Even in cloudy conditions, the module continues to generate significant energy, with currents that can reach 9 A, ensuring a level of energy availability far higher than that offered by traditional panels.

The high performance of the TBS 450WS makes it possible to power and recharge multiple leisure batteries, making it particularly interesting for users who enjoy wild camping or extended stays away from electrical infrastructure. For many users, this means being able to rely on an energy source capable of supporting compressor fridges, lighting systems, water pumps, electronic devices and other onboard services without using an external mains supply.

SPC 40/1B: the MPPT charge controller that makes the most of solar energy

To make full use of the potential of the new photovoltaic module, Teleco offers the SPC 40/1B charge controller, developed to maximise the efficiency of onboard solar systems. Thanks to MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology, the device continuously searches for the panel’s maximum power point, increasing the energy actually transferred to the battery compared with traditional PWM regulators.

Compatible with lead-acid, AGM, gel and lithium batteries, the controller automatically manages the different charging stages and helps preserve battery life. Its advanced electronic management also optimises the overall efficiency of the entire onboard energy system.

The SPC 40/1B also incorporates protection systems against overvoltage, overcurrent and reverse polarity, ensuring high levels of reliability and operational safety.

A complete energy ecosystem

With the launch of the new TBooster Pro units, the TBS 450WS photovoltaic module and the SPC 40/1B charge controller, Teleco Group is further strengthening its presence in the onboard energy sector, offering solutions designed to work in perfect synergy.

The combination of smart charging from the alternator and solar energy production makes it possible to take full advantage of every charging opportunity, both on the road and when parked. The result is greater autonomy, improved energy efficiency and enhanced reliability of the entire electrical system of the recreational vehicle.
