Lippert’s InKey: the freedom of freedom keyless access for recreational vehicles
Some innovations may seem superfluous at first, like handfree truck opening on cars, but then end up becoming indispensable. A keyless front door system eliminates the need for traditional opening devices, simplifying daily life and enhancing the onboard experience. After a sunny day at the beach or a long walk in nature, being able to easily and safely enter your vehicle is an increasingly appreciated added value.
Lippert introduces InKey, a passive keyless access system based on RFID/NFC technology, designed to provide ease of use, security, and flexibility on recreational vehicles. Unlike Bluetooth systems, InKey does not require an app or external connectivity. It works using physical RFID tags or stickers that can also be stuck onto the user’s smartphone.
“With InKey we want to offer a solution that combines security, discretion and ease of use”,
explained Fabio Romagnoli, Engineering Director Caravanning Italy, Lippert EMEA. “Users can
spend the day at the beach or pool without worrying about where to keep the keys or remote
controls, enjoying greater freedom and peace of mind in the daily use of the vehicle”.
Each system can manage up to ten users, configurable using two dedicated master keys: one
for adding and the other for deleting tags. The RFID reader is installed in a concealed location
inside the vehicle door, initially marked by a removable sticker, although the tags are extremely
secure and cannot be cloned.
“Each system can manage up to ten users, who can log in independently”, Romagnoli added.
“This offers great flexibility in vehicle use, especially in family or shared settings, where everyone
can have their own personalized access without having to depend on a single remote control or
set of keys”.
Lippert is already developing an advanced version of InKey with a 6-digit numeric keypad,
allowing completely independent access without physical media. Ideal for rental and shared
vehicle use, InKey is a robust, modular, and customizable alternative to current electronic
opening systems.
With this new system, Lippert is earning a sound reputation as the technology partner of choice
for the recreational vehicle industry, capable of offering practical solutions to support
innovation and in-vehicle quality.

Lippert is looking forward to seeing you at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf (Hall 14, Stand C05)
for a sneak peek of this and many other exciting innovations.
